REDEVELOPMENT
All building projects should take account of the legacy and end-use phase.
Lack of attention to these concerns can lead to abandoned buildings, neglected infrastructure, and displacement of local populations. In addition, there are opportunities for developments originally intended for one purpose to be put to new uses that benefit local communities, or, when buildings are demolished, for materials to be reused or recycled.

Workers' rights in demolition and redevelopment are respected

Has due diligence been conducted on sub-contractors involved in the demolition / deconstruction / redevelopment of buildings, to ensure that workers' rights are respected - and do contracts with these contractors have terms that minimise the risks of workers' rights violations?
Have assessments been undertaken of potential exposure of workers and residents to contaminated waste materials, or materials to be re-used / recycled?
